#StayAtHome Series: WFH with Kirsty Irwin

For our next #StayAtHome Series chat we spoke with Kirsty Irwin, the Head Designer & Creative Director behind BOSKEMPER, about Working From Home and life in general during these crazy times. BOSKEMPER is a modern womenswear label that is infused with her personal ethos of effortlessness & adventure. With 10 years of experience in the industry, this self-taught designer brings a balance of sophisticated femininity, with dark accords & a nod to her personal style.

A world explorer, each collection is carefully curated with inspiration stemming from her frequent explorations. We might not be able to travel at the moment, but Kirsty's collection will have you reminiscing on that trip to Paris, nights out in New York, or a coastal day cruising in LA - until we are able to get on that flight overseas again!

"I am so passionate about my label & I refuse to give up."

How's Iso life going? What's a typical day look like for you?

Not too bad honestly. I am still working every day on my label, BOSKEMPER in the studio. I do however miss going out to restaurants, seeing friends & travelling. But good things are always worth waiting for :)

How has the lockdown affected your business?

Well initially it was difficult as China was the first affected & went into lockdown, which is where we manufacture. Then my assistant got Coronavirus… it wasn’t a good start. But China is back to work & Charlotte is back in the office, so things are looking up.

What's your go to WFH uniform?

After working from home for many years, I know the key to sanity is still getting dressed everyday. There is a high rotation of denim & “comfy but cute” tops/knitwear at the moment. Nothing groundbreaking happening over here ha ha. We also have been having themed dinners at my house, so it gives us an excuse to dress up.

Favourite shows/movies/books to binge?

I absolutely love Gillian Flynn books… get involved if you’re a murder mystery lover. As for shows, I can’t bare to share that shameful information in public.

Your favourite Aussie brands?

The girls that run my world are the likes of Ellery, Aje & Acler.

Any tips for other small business owners out there to get through this time?

Just keep swimming! It’s not an ideal time for any of us, but we just have to keep pushing through. I am so passionate about my label & I refuse to give up.
