Help Feed Families in Need

It's time to pay it forward. We are hoping to raise some funds to deliver essential food packages for families in need on the Island of the Gods, Bali.

Indonesia holds a dear place in my heart. It is the birthplace of my brand BATU (which is an Indonesian word), it is where I spend most of my time, it is where my shoes are manufactured, and where my staff and friends live. On a personal level, besides donating to various food drive charities, I have been supporting my pembantu/housekeeper and her family by paying her usual wages even though she doesn't have work to do. I have also let some local friends who have lost their jobs stay at my home rent-free while I am back in Australia for the foreseeable future. But there are so many more people who are being forgotten who need our help.

As most of you already know Bali’s economy is based on 80% tourism. With the current COVID-19 pandemic shutting the doors temporarily to the rest of the world most Indonesians who rely on your holidays to make a living are now struggling to survive, having lost their jobs immediately with so many establishments already closed indefinitely on the Island.

Our amazing friends at Bali-based business Island Graze have been fundraising to put together weekly/monthly essential food packages to the many who have already lost their income/jobs and are struggling to live on a day-to-day basis to get food on the table. Unlike here in Australia, locals receive no government support. But while tourism is not returning to the island anytime soon, the funds are starting to dry up.

We know that you and yours may also be struggling too so any small amount will be appreciated and will make a huge difference in our efforts to support the beautiful families we all love and who have looked after us for so many years.

If you know of someone in need please contact Island Graze directly to add them to the list. Please share this with anyone that you know that has been to Bali and loves the island and it’s people as much as we do!

Bali will survive this uncertain time. The country will take the chance to heal like the rest of the world and will welcome everyone back with open arms when it is ready.

We are all in this together.

100% of donations will go directly to supplying food and supplies. To donate: https://gf.me/u/x3mba2
